Ijeoma Mbiaka, a 12-year-old girl narrated how she became a victim to her pastor’s rape plan. The girl claimed that Rev Sampson Otisi, the pastor of her church; Rhema Ministries in Oyeagu Abagana in Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State lured her to a hotel, under the pretence of conducting deliverance for her but ended up raping her all through the night. Ijeoma, who is said to have hearing problems claimed she went to the church to seek prayers from the pastor so that she could hear loudly again. However, she said she was lured to the hotel and raped from 9 pm to the next morning and dumped in the hotel room, where she cried until hotel attendants rescued her. Ijeoma who spoke at the Magistrate Court Abagana said she prayed all night reminding the pastor of the consequence of his act, but her pleas fell on deaf ears. Farida Waziri, the former chairperson of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has hit back at former President Olusegun Obasanjo over Mr. Obasanjo’s criticism of her leadership at the EFCC. The former EFCC boss accused Mr. Obasanjo of manipulating the EFCC under Nuhu Ribadu to hunt political opponents in Mr. Obasanjo’s effort to secure a third term in office. She expressed surprise that a man who has been twice a Nigerian leader would “descend so low to peddle falsehood”. Waziri warned Obasanjo to respect his age or else she would “open up on him”. The former president had told a publication of the EFCC, Zero Tolerance, that Mrs. Waziri was a disaster to Nigeria’s effort against corruption, questioning her qualification for the appointment in the first place, and accusing , Mrs Waziri of having been appointed on the recommendation of convicted former governor, Delta state, James Ibori. Prof. Ruqayyatu Rufa’i was among the nine ministers relieved of their positions by President Goodluck Jonathan in a cabinet reshuffle on Wednesday. She says she will be going back to the university to teach. Rufa’i handed over the affairs of the education ministry to the Minister of State in the ministry, Chief Nyesom Wike, as the president had directed. Speaking to the press, she said that she would be going back to continue with her job as a teacher. About three weeks after he was kidnapped, human rights lawyer & activist Mike Ozekhome (SAN) has reportedly been freed. He was freed at about 8am this morning by his kidnappers in Benin. Mr Ozekhome is said to be in the office of the State Security Service in Benin as of this morning.
