There is a new trend among pregnant women in Ghana. Lots of expectant mothers in the country are now taking pills to lighten the skin of their unborn babies while they are still in the womb. Medical experts have warned pregnant women to stop taking the illegal drugs. They say these illegal drugs can cause birth defects, including damage to limbs and internal organs. The practice is growing in Ghana, according to the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA), with pills often smuggled into the country inside luggage at airports in large quantities. Ghana's Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) says using Glutathione pills for the purpose of lightening babies' skin is dangerous, adding it wants "the general public to know that no product has been approved by the FDA in the form of a tablet to lighten the skin of the unborn child”. Security agencies and police are working together to arrest and prosecute companies and individuals in possession of the illegal tablets.

According to Punchng, Shehu Buda and Bello Mallam were arrested in Talba Estate, Bida, and claimed that they went into robbery because there was recession in the country and the government did not provide any job for people. Legendary Bollywood star Sridevi Kapoor's died due to 'accidental drowning' in a bathtub according to an official investigation. The actress, who was 54 when she died on Saturday night, had traces of alcohol in her blood, the forensic report found. According to Gulf News, Sridevi was under the influence of alcohol when she lost balance and fell into the bathtub at Jumeirah Emirates Towers hotel, Dubai. Dubai Police released the report to Sridevi's family and a representative of the Indian Consulate this morning. Her family confirmed the sad news of her death over the weekend. The veteran actress and her family were in the United Arab Emirates for her nephew's wedding before her sudden death.
